So I just looked in my sump and noticed almost all of my chaeto is gone. Its no where to be found. Was there just not enough food for it? Only thing though is my macro algae in the tank is spreading so they shouldnt be it and there should be enough lighting back there as its bright enough.

Yeah I looked in the other part of the sump and checked the tank and nothing

Maybe you got a sea hare back there or something.

Could it be possible that it came in on your LR?

Also, do you have phosphate absorbing medium?

Chaeto needs phosphate and nitrate to really take off. Might also be an issue with low iron.

How hot is your tank now?

Might be a heat issue back there.

Wouldnt macro need those as well? How big is a sea hare?

Also I have magic beans back there as well so that will remove alot of the nitrates

If it's growing in the front but not in the back, then i would guess it's a light issue.

Do you have the chaeto right up on the bulbs?

I notice chaeto does not float. You might have to find away to keep it up and close to the light.
