It was cool seeing the banded shrimp go at the dead zoa. He wasnt even afraid of me when I realized what he wanted I let him go at it and when he finally walked away i ripped up the rest.

Yeah, you still got a lot then.
Hopefully they make it. I always wonder what pops up on LR.
Sometimes marco, shrooms, and all kinds of stuff can grow from the LR.
Theoretically they just need one cell to grow from. I got some marco that popped up from nothing (that I could see) on my LR.

Guess I should have given them some more time. I will change the water tomorrow so they can have a chance.

Those are zoas for sure. Keep them low on the sand bed. Keep the water clean and they will come back to life.
Could be some expensive stuff dude!

Here are some pics of the pink polys in the LED the pics dont do it justice the pink glow is a lot brighter.

A pic of the banded shrimp next to the pink poly. When I was trying to take one of the "dead zoa" the shrimp darn near attacked me so he could start chowing down on the insides.

Google "aipstasia" and see if it looks like that.
A bunch came in with CP's last LR shipment from what I hear.
I didn't look to check when I was there yesterday.

I can take a pic but they are not opening so I really have no idea. I am pulling them off with the long plant twizzers.

Jokes aside, a squirting zoa is not a dead zoa. Zoas can come back from a lot. But it's hard to tell from what you are writing.
What you have might not be a zoa. Can you take pictures of it? What color is it?
Be careful when handling zoas they are poisonous (some more than others).

lol, you got skeeted on!Originally posted by Darbex View PostSo if you barely touch a zoa and it squirts brown stuff it is dead correct? Some of the hitchhiker zoas when touched squirt brown stuff so I rip them off when they do. I think all of the additions has caused a mini cycle in the tank. NH3 .25, NO2- .25, & NO3- 5.0

Trust me you got all kinds of things in your tank you don't know about.
Check at night cause that's when they all come out.
They will multiple at a decent rate too.
Lots of fishes will eat them.
But do keep your eye out for bad things man.
