Remember to bring a container for your acan. A Pho container is fine. I'll bag it but seems like the tissue on acans is really soft and could be damaged rolling around in just a bag. I fed it a bit last night, Seems pretty happy.

      Your tank done cycling?

Hey what do you dip your corals in?

I just bought coralrx pro. I dunno if it was me or something else but hot damn my tank was about to crash hard. I dipped the corals I got at the picnic. And rinsed them in some tank water I put in a separate cup. Then put it on my frag racks in my Elos. Came back 30 mins later and junk was dying left n right. My purple plasma was rtn'ing bad. My anemone fell off it's rock. Everything was sliming up. I ran and got some carbon and now everythig is back to normal. Anemone doesn't look too hot but is doing better. I'm scared to use this dip again.

Lugol's Solution or just Decolorized Iodine. I found both worked. There are mix reviews. I going to go with a higher end product next.

              Installation Process

Overflow box.....it's way bigger then I thought.

Looks a lot better after install. The inside overflow does not take up much room.

Now on to installation of the sump.

After drillin some holes, running the flex hose, I installed the sump.

              top part looks like this

installing the return like and pump.

                1) lily pipes

                2) things needed

                3) boil the tube.

makes putting it on the lily pipe easier.

                4)

Add on the motor and stick it on the sump.

                5)

                Finally vortech action!

                mores still to come!

You read my mind on the Reef octopus xp1000 sss.

Yea it's nice, but the reason why I was suggesting the Tunze 9002 is because it's Alot smaller. That way you could put some live rock in that area too for some extra nitrate removal, or a gfo/carbon reactor. With the xp1000sss you won't have any space for anything else. Since you went with no fish, I don't know if you'll have enough floating organics to support the foam head on a monster skimmer like that.

Since your sump is small, with a big skimmer like that you also risk getting microbubbles in the dt. But if the xp1000 SSS don't work for you, I'll buy it off you haha. I've been waiting for it to get back in stock. But my bm nac7 has been working great so I'm not in a rush.

I plan to feed a bit more than normal so a big skimmer would be a plus.

But you are right on with the micro bubbles. I'm scared the sump is just to small to disperse it.

For now, since I'm not keeping SPS yet....I plan to have some LR and macro in it.
