Why are you doing this to me Thai? I am already laying in bed and I cant sleep all I can think about is getting my hands on my wifes angel tank and converting it to a SW reef tank. I am trying to contemplate how to do it with out being divorced.

I agree..... I had a 30gal cichlid tank that was my baby till i got into saltwater. Cichlid tank was sold on craigslist 5 months after starting a reef tank. Salt water tanks have more life to them. You never know what kind of freebies you will get when you purchase live rock. I purchased a rock with green star polyps on it from a lfs and then 2 months later i had zoas and mushrooms popping out of the same rock. Also once the tank is up and running maintnece is about the same or less time wise as a fress water tank. The only thing that cost $$$ on maintnece after the tank is up and running is additives (calcium, strontium, buffers) Carbon (same rule as in freshwater) and saltwater (1-1.50 a gallon at pet stores) The real $$$$$ comes in setting up the tank. But if you can find one on craigslist already set up and running, your set.

I agree with the links. especialy the begining were it talks about misinformation. Thats why i say what works for one person may not work for you. Also look at fish as idividuals, some fish of the same fish my nip at corals when others wont. I guess im trying to say as look at things in %. for example whats the chance that this will this fish will nip at zoas (if other people have posted the same fish nipping. with the pet store selling the fish being reef safe) Whats the odds of this fish fighting with others when its a small fish in a very large tank. There is allot of factors that may change the odds in some cases and people dont add that to there information. just some things to think about.
