What is the easiest way to measure all the chemicals? Is there a inline meter or something that can tell you what your levels of calcium is and so on? I would imagine it would be painful if you have to constantly check the water for a host of items.

There are expensive pin point monitors and all you have to do is drop the probe in the water. But these cost a lot man. Something like these:
And there are the more traditional kind, which you take sample water and add a few drops here and a few drops there:
Really if you keep a small to medium size tank and do 10-20% water changes you will put back all the nutrients the corals need and don't really have to test for too much.
The thing I check all the time is salinity but that's not hard with a refractometer.I ate my fish that died.

The drop thing is what I hate so much. I hate doing it on my tanks as it is.

not for magnesium or any other trace (iodine, strontium, etc). test kits you need calcium, nitrate, ph, phosphate. I just tested frequently at first and now check if i see something i don't like going on or about every 2 weeks to a month. youll find a balance with your system and testing wont be necessary all the time.
