so you can drill the back of the tank just not the bottom?

Some bottoms are tempered some are not. In the Marineland line it varies from tank to tank without any pattern I can notice related to size or shape. Their tank FAQ section is dozens of folks asking whether a particular tank of a certain vintage has tempered glass, and if so which panes.

Drilling was not needed. Picked up a CPR bak pak skimmer and CPR hang on bak fuge. I've had water cycling with live rock and crushed coral since wendsday.

I'm must have gotten a piece of live rock loaded with these white starfish because they are everywhere. A few snails.
