    If memory serves right the maintenance log posted on the machines show multiple visit a week.

    I think Kiko tested it on another trip and got lower than I did.

      I've got a friend that swears by the watermill. Has always done his water changes with it and has had zero problems. Assuming we are talking saltwater still. That's what i'll be using on mine.

        the guy told me that many mills are visited daily and have online diagnostics which report problems and shut down the systems if the quality fades. pretty impressive. i will post the N Houston locations when i get them. i imagine that its equally good for SW and FW tanks as a base.

              I have used the watermill water in the past for my CRS & planted aqauria. I eventually broke down and bought a RO/DI unit from the local hydro supply though. I think one week I went everyday to the machine, and it always said maintenance. Now I have RO on hand all the time, and its nice.

I requested info (via email) from Watermill and a rep called me back within the hour. They are getting me info on locations near me and were able to provide average test data for their systems:
                pH = 6.0-6.5
                Hardness = 0-1 (not sure if this was gH or kH)
                Cu = 0.006ppm
                Mg = 0.1ppm
                CL2, Chloramines, Phosphates, Nitrates, Potassium, Iron = Non Detectable where Lower Detectable Limit is typically 1.0ppm

                He said there where 100 substances on the test reports and all but 4 were ND. From this, I would guess that the TDS COULD be much closer to the 4ppm that EK found than the 50ppm that they guarantee. He had to give me the "Watermill only recommends this product for consumption and not aquarium use and / or homebrewer as we have not specifically tested this product for those applications" speech but i think that was just some attorney stuff.

                Like the Culligan setups, I am sure this test data varies somewhat depending upon the feed water and also if someone just filled 100 gallons ahead of you in the last 5 minutes.
                How did you get from the "email" to TDS closer to 4?

                  4ppm TDS was what I tested at one of the local mills which I posted earlier in the thread and as referred to in the post you quoted.

                    I was suggesting that the <4ppm that EK / Kiko tested for may not have been an abhorration but more the norm. When the WM data reports that most of the levels of solids are non detectable, the TDS is likely to be on the lower end. of course if you test for 100 different components and the LDL is 1.0ppm then if they were all actually 0.5ppm you will have your 50ppm TDS. in any case, its probably some of the better water you will find and better than the culligan machine i was using.

                      I used the watermill by my house for my reef tank with no problems. Just my experience but I recommend them. Especially if you're starting out and not sure if you'll stick with it. I didn't get an RO/DI until I set up my 185.

                            from what i have read, you want to start with very pure water for SW tanks...not sure if ozarka would be good to add salt to

                              I use mostly watermill water in my 260g saltwater tank. When my tank was setup, thats all that I used. I have a RO/DI unit, I just need to get off my lazy butt and get it installed.

                                I just bit the bullet and bought the ro/di unit. Was tired of lugging around buckets of water
