    These would be very useful for sumps with limited space, I might try one out myself in the future. Are these skimmers relatively quiet?

      To be honest, I don't hear much. But the store is really loud and there is a pump that is humming like crazy for the return on the tank. Overall though, I don't hear much from the skimmer because the pump is underwater and it has a stabalizing plate under it to prevent the humming noise. Hope that helps.
