  • Bio-Pellets?

    Hey trung,

can I run the bio-pellets in a bag in my sump or does it need to be in a reactor or canister?

My nitrates are at 10-15 and po4 is at .02-.04 looks like. but this is with 25% WC every 3-4 days. i would like to cut down to one WC a week and even up my feeding if I can.
I ate my fish that died.

Biopellets did a good job bringing my nitrates down, but it still struggled with po4. I had to run gfo to lower my po4.

I would do both biopellets and gfo if I were you. Both in reactors for best results. Gfo can be ran thru a sock but it might cake up and turn into a brick. Biopellets need to tumble or else it gets clumpy and wont work well.

You can do socks but they aren't the best.

Are you still running the sock? I noticed my water would stay cleaner if I used the felt sock but changed every 2-3 days.

I don't use the stock anymore.

I only use it when I'm feeding the gorg very heavy.

I would stick with the sock. I noticed a BUNCH of crap at the bottom of my sump. I gotta see how well this sump holds up but Imma try to add a powerhead down there to mix things up.
