Oh, and nice paint job btw. Are you going to use white Kilz primer on the inside of the stand like Ek suggested?

I'd trying to figure out how big of a pump I need. Few places are telling me a single 1" drain is 350gph, and some others are saying closer to 600gph. I'm assuming if it's 600, I'll be toning it down slightly with the ball valve to bring it closer to the 400 range for more media time in sump. I'm going to try that herbie method, seems like it will be easier with a slower flow rate
Reading that eheim pumps are king for the slower pressures. Reliability and minimal noise are top notch

I am personally only turning over my tank via sump 2x an hour and my MP60 is turning it over at a rate of about 15x an hour

I would get about a 300GPH pump after head height and resistence at that rate you will be turning it over close to 6x an hour.

As my buddy would say slow is smooth and smooth is fast. I am a fan of a slow pump for filtration and using PH for water movement.

I personally would go 1250 or Mag 5 at most. A mag 7 is pushes as much as my pump on my 330
