BM NAC3+/ BM NAC3.5 skimmers... differences? and which is better?

I've used two different reef octopus and they were pretty beast and also forgiving of water height.

but their expensive as hell... i read up on the NAC+ and they match alot of competitors... but i just wanted to ask other people opinion on it...

I honestly don't remember prices... actually don't think I paid any attention to prices when I set up the 30cube reef tank.

Just FYI, skimmers make a lot of noise nga. Lol, I currently don't have a skimmer for this reason. I'm going all cheato for now until I need one. My tank literally run silent.

Im covering the inside of the stand with sound deadening material after i paint latex in it... either sponge or the audio stuff... it shouldnt be that loud... is the impellor ****ed up?

It could have a trashed impeller and you wouldn't know over the noise of the needlewheel operation.

Nahhh, I got it brand new and used it for maybe 6-8 months. Skimmers are just noisey nga.

I've never been happy about any skimmer regarding noise.

Like EK said, the noise is coming from the needlewheel and all effective skimmers need this.
