I'll try keeping on 2 bulbs, will no white bulbs on for a week harm anything? I keep my refugium light (6500k)on full time

Nahhh, all blues will be fine.

Also, you want a reverse photo period on the sump light.

How long should I have the sump light off per day roughly? I have a timer I can set up for it

Yeah way to much flow. You got to remember 2 K3 are moving 1,700 GPH an hour constant. An MP 40 will range from 1-3K and that's if you are running full power. If you run half power that's 1-1.5K but it cycles so it will get the max for a short period then it will go slower. This is one reason I don't do constant pumps in a reef. It's fine for fish only who can move away from the flow if they are tired but corals can't.

              Yup!

I'm actually surprise at how low a flow rate both FS and hammers like. It seems like the slower the flow the bigger they expend!

I was running too much flow in my last tank and didn't even know it.

I turned off the right powerhead, the hammer and frog are like 5" under the running powerhead, so theyre slightly swaying but in no direct current. Giving it a few months until I make any more big purchases with this tank. Would hooking up the powerheads to the cheap timers to be on for 2 hours, off for 2, on for 2 etc etc work? These powerheads start right up with no rattling.

Also, in terms of reverse period, are the 7hours of my 3 lunar leds enough?

I wouldn't put it on a timer like that. Maybe a wave maker.

What do you mean 7 hours of lunar LEDs?

I assume these are the small LEDs that can't grow plants. You don't want that. Just use a light that can grow plants and turn it on while your tank light is off.

                  What's your water params?

My fuge as the 6500k PC clamp light that is always on (I can put on timer) but you mentioned a reverse period. Does that mean no grow lights at all anywhere in the tank for a period of time, or just no grow lights over the main tank? If thats the case, from midnight -7am the PC clamp light in the fuge is on and up top over the main tank just has 3 small blue lunar LEDs.

Params seem good for what I have tests for.

                    0 nitrate/nitrite/ammonia
                    1.025 salinity
0.1 phosphate roughly (api test kit has a broad range, but 0.1 is at the high end, so my actual is probably lower
alkalinity (reading between low and normal with my red sea kit, doesnt have any numbers to go with it)

He's talking during the day when your tank light is on your fuge light is off then when you turn your tank lights off at night your fuge light comes on

                        Exactly....

Display light on = sump light off

Sump light on = display light off

This helps ph stay more stable.

                          Update:Alright update -

Set up the lights as they should be. Corals seem a little happier, but without whites, and I stunting their growth? they're just 420/460 actinic bulbs.

Flatworm exit is on its way, but it doesn't look like they're overwhelming the tank yet.

Found another little pest in my fuge. Im seeing a handful at about 1/4" in size and a bunch of little babies. this is the best picture I could find, and based on what I could find, these are those pod things that are needed for mandarin? If thats what they are, are they fine for the tank? Worth getting a mandarin since im still only at 2 fish?

Yes that is a pod. And I may have missed a post or something but why are you only running the actinics?

Thai recommended that I try only 2 of my 6 bulbs for a week or so to see if it was too much light for my hammers/frogspawns since they were shy. They do seem better. Not sure if its because I unplugged a powerhead and have no direct current on them, or if it was the softer lighting. I'll probably start turning on whites again for 1-2 hours a day and work back up to 5 hours
