So with the replacing of my old skimmer, I decided to ditch my refugium since it wasn't doing anything effective (bio-pellets took over completely) and give it a clean, mechanical look to it. This is where I'm at now. There's no water flowing through it yet, waiting on a couple pumps to finish cleaning.
40g Breeder tank:
- Precision Marine R24 Sump
- Bubble Magus NAC6 Skimmer. I have the new retrofit Rock Pump ordered and on the way to improve this skimmers performance.
- I moved my Bio-Pellet Reactor up so it's hanging on the frame of the tank instead of cluttering up the sump.
- The second chamber is going to house the Bio-Pellet pump, heater and probably the pump for a future UV sterilizer.
Everything is going smoothly so far. I just wish I was able to alter my drain plumbing. It's pretty permanent and real close to the wall. It was my first ever attempt at a drilled tank so I didn't know any better. Live and learn!
