      Med grade lava rock works well. Its coarse enough to allow bacteria to bond to it. Can usually get a nice size bag from HD for pretty cheap.
      5 gal baby hecqui grow out
      7 gal baby compressicps
      14 bio cube fry tank, multies-orange leleupi-telmatochromis
      4 tank rack- 30 cubes. Shellies, mulities-brevis-telmatochromis-caudopunctaus
      100 gal mixed community tank
      125 Tropheus black bembas

      Tanngankia cichlids what else

        If you dont care about color, etc.. then you can go to the dollar store and by pot scrubbers.
        they are 3 for a dollar.
        In any case, I have read that pot scrubbers is much more bang for the buck than bio balls, etc...
        Lava Rock works well too.
        You might want to hit up Sunny as well.
        He typ. has some if he not using it.
        Bring beer....

          I'm looking to do something a little different than I've previously done with a new canister filter I bought. It has five trays for media and I wanna try something different.

            I think I'll try the lava rock and pot scrubbers. It'll be a fun experiment lol

              yeah I was thinking that to but I do have some bio balls and ceramic rings if you want it was enough to fill my cascade 1000
