I have a lot of live rock, mostly medium sized pieces with some rubble for sale. I have it sitting in a 55 gallon barrell with a heater and powerhead.
This is easily 100 lbs of live rock, probably more. I kept the big showy peices for my 140 gallon, but there is a ton of medium sized rock with various types/formations left. This cured for over 2 months in the 140 gallon with high current and filtration. It has since curing gone through the full cycle and tests negative for all ammonia, nitrates, nitrites.
Some of this rock came from another persons system. My systems rock is pest free, theirs seemed fairly pest free but you can't guarantee that without buying dry rock and cycling it yourself.
I'll put up some pictures when I get home.
I suggest bringing buckets. I have newspaper to wrap it in, or you can carry it immersed.
