  • WTS: 4 bulb shop light diy setup - SOLD

    SOLD - Thanks!

My old 4-bulb DIY shoplight set-up up is for sale: $36 for everything

Last month I removed my diy shop lights in an upgrade, time to get rid of 'em. I had two 4’ shop fixtures (4 bulbs total) retrofitted to my custom canopy. These use magnetic ballasts and can only drive T10 and T12 bulbs. I removed the ballasts from their original enclosures and had them mounted to the back of the tank stand where they could not add heat and weight to the canopy. I turned the light enclosures inside-out so that I could have a slim unit and reflectors. I ran the bulbs analog timer (included).

Refer to my upgrade thread for more information on my upgrade here

Lights as they were in my DIY canopy:

    Everything that is included:

    • 2 Used 4’ Utility Fluorescent Strips, reconstructed to retrofit a 55G hood. Retail $21 each new
    • 8 Used bulbs (T10 and T12s) - most if not all of them work but past their peak.
    • New T10 to T6 bushings 4 for retail $6 total
    • New T10 to T8 bushings 4 for retail $6 total
    • New 4 New water-resistant end caps with long flexible leads with for use with T8 (25 mm / 1” diameter) or T10 (32 mm / 1 1/4” diameter) fluorescent bulbs. retail $18
(The shop-light encaps are NOT moisture-resistant!!!)

I do not wish to part any of this out, $36 for all of it. Pick up only in Cypress (NW Houston). First to give me cash gets it, I will consider offers only if there are no takers at this price.
