Well, bettas seem to have a problem with rotting food on the bottom of the tank. It harbors bacteria which sometimes causes fin rot (loss of pectorial fins) So I feed banana worms first week (too small to eat BBS). BBS week 2 through 7 and live black worms, daphina & adult brine shrimp, mosquito larva week 8 on. My bettas are ready to breed or show by week 13. You just can't get that kind of growth with food that doesn't wiggle.
I also use green water, sponge filters and java moss to provide lots of infusoria.
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

      infusoria

      yep thats the word.
kribensis are said to actually do better when left with their parents and let to feed on infusoria (which they eat on all day long) in my tanks.
i like your feeding schedule. but who in the world would want to raise mosquitos for a hobby. and betta's
im sorry but if bettas were the only fish available, id have another hobby for sure.
cant see any betta worth having. and sure dont see myself raising them.
no offense intended. i just havent ever seen a betta worth keeping.

If you've only looked in pet stores, you've only reached the tip of the iceberg...
Fish are people too, they just have gills.

That's why they have horse races.
Actually, bettas are not the only fish I breed & raise. They are just the ones I ship to international shows every other weekend (spring & fall). I like the "My fish is better than your fish" attitude of betta breeders and who couldn't love all the color and fin variations available. I try to avoid the ever popular chiclids, but I do have 8pr of Kribs, Red Devils & Jack Dempsies. Just got rid of my Jewels & Angels. I also have Paradise, 2pr Pearl Gourami, High Fin swords, pin-tail platties, snakeskin guppies, bumble bee gobies, half a dozen types of tetras and more CAKs than I can count on my fingers & toes. And I just started with some Killies - very interesting..

thats actually funny because whether your looking on the top middle or bottom, theres absolutely no fish that live on icebergs

not that surprised to hear that you call cichlids ever so popular, yet every fish you named are found at every store i have ever been in. making your entire stock all ever so popular.
