For lack of a better description, I'll just refer to it as "salt and pepper" sand. Anyway, it's a black and white substrate (closely resembles sand) that is used in African cichlids tanks (well I've only seen it in African tanks). I'm setting up my girlfriend a larger tank for her Africans, and I think the forementioned substrate would really set it off. So I'm wondering if anyone has ever heard of or/seen the substrate that I'm talking about. If so, where can I find/get some???

Re: Looking for "salt and pepper" sand....
eco-complete african cichlid substrate
i have non-water parem altering sand mix 3:1 black:white mix but for my upcoming tank i will be using the eco-complete. theres also tahititan moon black sand which is what i used for my plant tank but no whites in it, you could mix it with aragonite or some sort of crushed coral/sand.700g Mini-Monster tank

That's what's up!!! I'mma have to make that happen b/c I want this tank to totally bow her away
Now tell me this...is the sand only recommended for smaller fish b/c her smallest fish may be 2-3"?
