  • Fiddler crabs

I bought 3 fiddler crabs today, 1 male 2 female.

Do they need to be able to get on dryland? i read an article somewhere that said they prefer to be able to get out of the water.

Im planning on putting them in my 50g with the angels and pleco. Has anybody had any experience with crabs in their tanks, i.e. will they destroy plants or get eaten by my pleco. Theyre about an inch long right now.

    thanks
    chris

think they would be a problem to the plants and when i see them usually they are on land running around but thats in galveston.

From what I remember, they definitely need to have a lot of access to dry land. But it does depend on what type they are. For instance, I know of a "fiddler crab" that lives in saltwater. Don't know about freshwater, though.
