  • LF Kasanga Red Rainbow trophs

I am looking for some kasanga red rainbow tropheus. I would like to get some more females around 3+" but even if they are juvies that need to be grown out I may be interested. I am located in Utah so I would need them shipped to me but I was given this forum name to see if anyone has any.

    Thanks, Jackie

Thanks for all the suggestions. I checked with cichlidsandherps but they don't have Kasanga and that is what I need to add to my colony.

not positive...but I think he MIGHT have gotten these latest fish from Allison, giving that all the fish he recieved today were all on her latest imported list. Like I said..not positive though.

Either way, unless we know for sure, let's not speculate! I've spent a good bit of money there buying what he advertised as "wild caught" fish. I don't need unconfirmed speculation to needlessly devalue my colony!

If something is sold as wild caught, until it can be PROVEN that it's not, then it is as sold.

              Thank you!

I second Newb's suggestion to try the new HFB sponsor Cichlid and Herps. I've heard that for a small bump in price, Allison will work with you on ratios. (She has to asborb the cost of keeping culled males..)

                I'm not speculating.

Sorry to hear that. Mike could have gotten them for you cheaper.

Sorry, not trying to devalue your colony or speculate about your fishes. Just making some general statements. He doesn't get all his fishes from Old world. Old world also brings in WCs.

If something is sold as wild caught, until it can be PROVEN that it's not, then it is as sold.

Agreed. If you got the recipe no one can really call them anything else.

                Thank you!

Alex at Ultimate Fish just recieved a box from Africa on Wednesday of Red Rainbows.

I am not sure which variant of red Rainbows, but they are there.

Truong at Extreme does order from Old World, and I have not seen Red Rainbows in pondraised on their lists when Trong placed that order. ALL FISH on Old Worlds list that is listed by a SIZE is a pondraised fish. If it is in the (Import/Farm) section or (Burundi) section and listed by SIZE it is AFRICAN PONDRAISED. If it is listed in (BRED) section that is FLORIDIA PONDRAISED or TANKRAISED.

All of Laif's fish that are wild will say WILD.

I just saw you were from Utah.

Alex will ship, but if your looking to have fish shipped, you'll more likely get a better price from a online retailer than getting them from Alex's store.

Tyrone at TNT Cichlids has Red Rainbows in both tankraised and in Wild Caught.

As long as the tankraisd or pondraised line has been maintained well by the breeder, they are just as nice or better than Wild Caught fish. You just have to have patience as well and let them grow up.

Another thing is if I have kasanga do I need to stick with that local? They all look really close to me so I was wondering how people tell them apart.

All mine are mixed collection points. People say you can tell the difference, and I do see subtle differences in the tone of the color, but after being in the tank together for a while they will start to blend together. I think thats why most are just sold as "Red Rainbow" now vs. their actual collection point.

                              My opinion? Mix 'em!
