  • 115 Oceanic (tank, stand, canopy) cheap!

I recently bought a 115 Oceanic setup off craigslist and paid $250 for it. I wondered why it was so cheap but couldn't find anything wrong until I went home and removed the overflow boxes. Saw a hairline crack by 1 of the drilled holes. You can't feel the crack with your hand but you can see it in the middle of the glass. I did not bother trying to setup the tank and fill it with water. Although I'm positive it won't leak I didn't bother risking it. It will likely hold water for a unknown period of time then just crack completely.

The stand is in great condition and is mahogany or cherry wood color as well as the canopy. A possible fix for the tank would be get a piece of glass cut to the tank's dimensions and get holes drilled the same size as the ones already on the tank and silicon it to the bottom of the tank from the inside... I still have the overflow boxes if you want them. I was told the crack is due to "stress".

p.s. The glass all around the tank is really THICK. I think that's Oceanics style. The piece of glass for the bottom of the tank is about half an inch thick....The crack is about 2-3'' long

    60''x18''x24'' 1/2

    $200 obo

The tank itself is in really good condition aside from the crack.

As long as the overflow box is there.. then there will not be alot of stress on the crack. Once removed I would be worried.

-- Can you feel the crack on either side of the tank ? (inside or outside) or is it completely internal ?

No you can't feel the crack. The overflow box can be put back on with Aquarium Silicon. I will try and get pics of the stand and canopy later. But refer to pics from the thread "115g" that someone else is also selling, its pretty much identical.

The trim on the tank is the same color as stand, canopy. I will sell the stand and canopy for $150. I'll keep the tank if no one wants. LFS sell 100g 5ftx18''x21'' tanks for like $~250, 115g usually go for $~350. This can be turned into a nice Tropheus tank.
The canopy is shown on the 4th picture placed on top of the stand. As you can see both the stand and canopy is in great condition besides blemishes from normal wear and tear. Some pictures are flipped the wrong way sorry.

This is beautiful! I wish I had seen this earlier. I would have been willing to get the stand and canopy and buy a new tank. I wish I had enough room in my house to put this somewhere. Finding stand/canopy combos this nice is hard to find.

Congratulations to whomever gets this nice setup.
