it looks like a vieja....i think a vieja is either a SA or CA cichlid
210 gallon ~ S/A, C/A build; jaguar, dovii, flowerhorn, gold doviI, 2 red devils, pacu, shovel nose cat
125 gallon long ~ African cichlids
10 gallon ~ ghost shrimp breeding (fish treats) haha

I bought them as plum heads and the guy that has bought the last 2 batches of fry said they were red head cichlids.

                  viejas are central american cichlids.
their scientific name is Vieja Synspilus.
otherwise known as red head cichlids.
the get very large, males if properly taken care of and given an adequate sized tank, ie; minimum 125g will reach 16"tl.
females if given the same above mentioned care will reach 14"tl.
                  FRENCH FRY!!!

But it's the same fish, right? Or one like it?

How old/big are the fish now? How long have you had them?

I bought them about 8 months ago, and they were roughly 2 inches, now they are about 7 inches on the mail, and 6 inches on the female. they are quite peaceful, however, my polleni's are starting to give them problems.

I am willing to trade for African's, just not sure what type i want, i would even trade a pair of the polleni for african's also.

I guess I'm confused then. The picture you posted of your fish that you're selling is in a photo album from a guy named Ray who said he bought the fish in 1996.

Picture you posted of your fish:

Your name is Shaun; his is Ray. You got the fish 8 months ago; he got it 13 years ago.

                        What gives?
