  • For Sale: 210 Gallon 7ft Oceanic

The tank is currently filled and holding water. I purchased it last week from craigslist and ended up buying a new tank for a display tank in my livingroom.

The dimensions are 84" X 24" X 24" and I removed the top trim to give it a more modern look. It is not drilled. The original owner told me he had it resealed by Oceanic about a year and a half ago, and they also replaced the bottom glass.

I had made a post on this forum and another forum (simplydiscus.com) requesting opinions on the silicone seams of this tank. The majority consensus is that they are fine, and some bubbles in the seams are common. Silicone is very strong and the glass itself is 1/2" thick so there is plenty to hold onto. I have had this tank filled all week and it has no leaks.

There are a some scratches near the bottom of the tank, most are on the back side...if you are going to use a background or paint the tank they will never be seen. The rest pretty much disappear when you have water in the tank.

If you are interested in seeing the tank just let me know and you can judge for yourself. Its BIG and looks good.

I do have twin lighting fixtures holding 2 bulbs each that I will include in the sale. One is shown lighting the tank in the pics below. There are no glass tops either...this tank is meant to be open air...

(EDIT ADDED) I have decided to sell the stand with the tank and lights for $600 I paid $900 last week for the tank, lights and stand...ouch!....

If you have any other questions or would like to make an offer, please PM me.

    Thanks again,

    Matt

My friend saw the tank today and thought I was crazy to sell it just to buy a new one...oh well I already ordered my new tank so my loss is your gain.

I'm also considering selling the stand. I know they are fairly expensive to buy, so I need to find out on Tuesday how much it will cost me to get one built from the people building my tank. If I buy a new stand, I will be able to sell the Oceanic stand with this tank if someone is interested in the combo.

Go to HAW or Fishland and see what their stand makers charge. both make good products.

Matt, tank looks better from last weekend. Too bad I am broke.

But I saw the tank today in person filled with water. Vs last weekend I saw it when Matt was cleaning it up and it wasnt filled all the way. Without water you see more of the glass imperfections. Once the tank is fully filled the imperfections vanish when water is in. This will be a good deal for some1.. New tanks this size run about 1k.

+1 for Matt he's a good honest seller

                  Hi
While I am kinda new on here... but kinda old in life..... I am not too sure that I really ever felt comfortable with losing 500 bucks or so inside of a month........

You and others have said that you cannot notice the scratches with the tank filled... and along with some careful aqua scapping, you should not have a problem at all..

Even tho you have ordered a new tank,,, you may be able to cancel the order if they have not started making it yet....or at least pay a small fee which would still be less than the loss of 500....

Now on the other hand.. you may be someone who can afford to drop money..... My address............

I would really re consider your options....

Just my thinking from an older guy...

I was going to wait until Tuesday to decide that...the price of the new stand will weigh in on my decision.

If its outrageously expensive to build a new stand, I will probably keep this one. Im sure it wouldnt be too hard to build one myself but I just dont know much about it and hardly have the time to do anything extra these days. So, I'd rather refer the building to a pro.

If its not too expensive, then I would probably sell the tank and stand for $650 obo.

Well Bill it is true the good Lord has blessed me greatly and I am able to make these tough decisions without too much of monetary concern. Dont get me wrong I'm not in the business of throwing money away....but similar to most investments...you win some, you lose some...but hopefully in the end you are at least happy with your returns, and perhaps you also learned something along the way.

In fact, my main concern is regret...I know I will be staring at this tank for a long time...and it will be placed in my livingroom...I have spent 2k on filtration and lighting and other accessories, so if the difference between a new custom tank like the one I ordered (using black silicone and trimless from the factory) is a $500 loss....then in the grand scheme of things I'm okay with that.

So all that being said...I have a 210 gallon Oceanic tank for sale! Come and get it! :)
