anybody have some Rotala sp 'green' or Egeria najas?
Re: anybody have some Rotala sp 'green' or Egeria najas?
I've got some kind of najas - there seems to be a lot of conflicting info out there - especially since egeria and elodea and such can behave so differently in different lighting. (I guess that's true with all plants!) I just threw out a lot of what I have, unfortunately, from trimming my 40 (native tank). I'll look around for photos to post to show you...
Re: anybody have some Rotala sp 'green' or Egeria najas?
so you could have thrown away what im wanting :(
im really wanting some rotala green cause i plan to tear down my tank and either upgrade to something bigger but either way im gonna replace the sand with eco-complete or ADA soil and i think the red rotal and the green rotala as a background plant would look good.
Re: anybody have some Rotala sp 'green' or Egeria najas?
Hmm...looking on google, it might not have been...I have a stem plant that's got similar edging on the leaves, but it's not quite as full as egeria najas, and I believe it only has 3 leaves per whorl....not sure how many egeria najas has. I'm still looking for a good picture, might have to take one tonight.
Re: anybody have some Rotala sp 'green' or Egeria najas?
thanks ramius for the offer but i think the indica with my high lighting will turn red.
i found this plant at fish ranch and it has a really nice green to, not lime green like the rotala i want but im gonna work with it and maybe get some rotala later on and do two different shades of green and a red center background.
Re: anybody have some Rotala sp 'green' or Egeria najas?
Just to warn you - that plant's going to shoot up REALLY quickly in your tank! :) Any new growth might be on the paler green/yellowish side, but will turn that rich green very soon, and will stay that way, so nothing to worry about there! Have you planted it yet?

I have some and really like it! I'm glad that you posted this because all the other anacharis that i have seen has very short leaves & I wasn't sure what I had.
