  • WTB 75 Gallon Tank

I am in the market for a 75 gallon tank. I have been trying the craigslist route with no luck. Either the tank is not actually 75 gallon (most are 55) or the set up is a complete mess. I had hoped to find a package deal from someone looking to get out of the hobby but I have not had any luck so far.

So I'm thinking I should just buy new. I'd like to know where I might find a good deal on a tank, top and lights. Petsmart has a setup for $209. A LFS has quoted me $265 and another . . . well, lets just say it was waaayyyy out of my price range. So, my question: Is $209 the best deal I'm going to get? Are there other places in town I can contact? Thanks in advance for any shopping tips!

    Dawn.

Be patient and give craigslist a chance. You will find a great deal if you wait. This board is also a good idea. There are (eventually) good even great deals to be found.

I picked up and 72 gallon bowfront with a beautiful cabinet, canopy, filter, lights, plants, gravel and everything. I paid about 1/3 of what I would have paid new. Best of all, I got cycled media and was able to stock in two days.

Have you tried Fishland? Last time I was in there, he had some nice 75 gallon and 90 gallon tanks. Give them a call. (281) 497-3474
