  • WTB: Tropheus

Tax time this year has been good to me so I will be setting up another 6ft tank for another big colony of tropheus and I am looking for something really nice since it might be my last tank setup for a good while.

I am looking for something that is not easily obtained and would love to have it in a huge group of at least 30-40 adults.

    looking for........

    katonga/ujiji
    korongwe
    chaitika
    kasakalawe
    uwile

if anyone has a colony or knows of where I can get one in the numbers I want it would be great!

    Thanks

ek, who you fooling bro...........last tank setup for a good while??????????  LOL

A 6 footer with tropheus would be the bomb bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  You gotta have lots of holey rock in it as well.

You already have a good start with your wc's from TNT..........beautiful fish.

No cherry spots?  I don't know their formal name, but I think they are very cool.

Best of luck in getting your tropheus!!!!!!!!!!

Hahhaha, Ron you don't know how much trouble I went through to get the fiance to accept my plan.

Bulu points/ cherry spots don't do it for me and their colors aren't really consistant enough for me. Nice  when you get some goods ones though!

Wait till you see Cherry Spot from Siyeswe...

Velvety jet black with bright overripe persimmon red. And the colors are consistent for the most part. Too bad you prolly wont find any unless someones importing any time soon from that area.

I have thought about it and I would really like to get a big colony of Uwile Brichardi variant.

So if anyone knows of some wilds or adults for sale let me know! Or if you see some available online that's fine too!

              Thanks

                Re: WTB: Tropheus

The Ujiji is a very, very, rare collection. The Ulwile is also rare, but I know where F1 is at in Canada.

There is a guy in College Station that is importing Ulwile and is on the Cichlid Forum as bethesdaboy, you may want to PM him there.

Otherwise you will have use a European firm such as Airfish that your going to want to import some.  They will have a minimum order, and you might have to have a license to do this.

Therefore, you will need someone that has the ability to import the fish for you, or get a license.

                Hope this helps...

                  Re: WTB: Tropheus

I spoke with Alex at Ultimate fish and he has a Extremly large order of Tropheus that is coming in within this month or 1st of March.

Some uncommon imports will be Limespot Kapampa, and Red Cheek Mpimbwe

The rest of his imports were rather common Tropheus types Ikola, Cherry Spots, Ilangi, Red Ranibows, Chimbas, Kachese, and I think he said Mpulungu.

                    Re: WTB: Tropheus

I think Luis Navarro told me about Alex's huge shipment. Red cheeks would be killer! but I think they will cost an arm and a leg coming from Alex....Didn't Jolley pay like $50 ea for his Ilangi from him?

I will see what Bethesdaboy says.

                    Thanks Geoff!

Did you see how big John's Illangi are? Theyre some huge mofos. I think they are well worth the $50 they were.

                        Re: WTB: Tropheus

I have yet to see his ilangi in person but I would rather get small ones if they are a bit younger so I can get the extra enjoyment time out of them.

Also I'm looking for a group of at least 40 so if you do the math 40x$50=$2,000+tax

Too much when smaller is going for $30 at most.
