    Re: WTB nano saltwater tank

lol, i just want crabs and some shrimp. But not just ONE shrimp.

Maybe I'll just convert my freshwater to saltwater this summer.
I know the guy kept saltwater fish in it...but I don't know about reefs and stuff. Don't shrimp need corals and reefs and stuff?

Inverts produce less waste I believe so you could easily keep more then one Log.

Depends on the nano.  If you're only doing a 1 gallon then no, you wouldn't want to keep more than one cleaner or blood shrimp and that's probably pushing it.  Shrimp do not need corals.

I don't think people realize what you can do with FW you can't do with salt.  Nanos are great if you're just keeping corals, but for fish it's pretty much a waste because to have any decent fish you need a minimum of a 20g and probably should go larger because most fish will out grow that 20g.

I wouldn't keep any goby in anything smaller than a 5g and then it would only be one of the smaller gobies like the hi fin.

Obviously you don't need to take my opinion on it.  We've been keeping reef tanks for over 4 years now, but it's still only my opinion.  Do the research, we did.  There's lots of books out there and tons of websites.

I think I'll just convert. Can't I get an overflow and a sump and use my 100 gallon?

          I believe you Karen. (:

          Kind Regards,
