I have heard they do wonders on sifting though sand and keep it clean and the air pockets from staying in the sand. Anybody know where I can get some and how much they run. Also I have had one snail before and my pleco ate it.. Do you think I will still have this problem with these snails?

No . . . You shouldn't have a problem with these snails. I can give you some (as can many others on this site). A word of warning though: these guys will over-run your tank.Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

I doubt it, they burrow fairly quickly and reproduce at an alarming rate in suitable conditions. They are excellent sand sifters, but can be unsightly once they have a population explosion and can be difficult to get rid of once established. Literally any pet store usually has them as a nuisance and if asked nicely should offer some with any purchase for little to nothing. I know for certain that Houston Aquatics on Shepherd has a metric ton of them. Assassin snails or Tylomelania snails offer alternatives that are more easily kept in check and can be sold later as they maintain their value over time. Armthehomeless usually has Assassins for sale and has been breeding some Tylomelania if I am correct. Shoot him a PM if you are interested. In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

Definately get assassins over MTS. I cant stand MTS they breed way to rapidly. Assassins looking cool and are much slower reproducers. As mentioned Tim breeds them

I also have Assassin snails if you decide to go that route, and need any in addition to any you might get from Tim. Just wanted to throw that out there. Our Fishhouse
