I think you are going to be hard pressed to find someone willing to sell Tropheus as a pair since they are colony fish who thrive in large groups, and tend to pick each other off in smaller quantities. If you could keep at least 10, you might have better luck. Also, it's best to have more females than males or the male will likely kill the lone female. I have Moliro, and they are very aggressive...I can't imagine having a single pair together. I have no doubt the male would have killed the female within hours.
The Fish Market is really not a 'discussion' forum, and I realize I've broken a rule by posting this, but I thought it was worth it in this case. Our Fishhouse

Good choice of fish to go with !!! Trophs are highly addictive !!! But as a Troph keeper I do want to pass on a little advice . Before you go out and purchase some Trophs....please do your homework . Read any and everything that you can find...and when you think you've read enough...then read some more . You owe to the fish to provide them with the best care possible . Lastly , once you get your Trophs...pay close attention to them . If you pay close enough attention to them on a daily basis...you'll be able to tell when the slightest little thing is not right with them .
