Hi,
I posted this on CL last week, and got some interest but my options are severely limited at the moment. I lost my house when the economy imploded. I'm living in Alabama for the time being, because this house is paid for. I put my tanks, furniture, pool table, and music gear in 3 storage units in West Houston, thinking I'd be back once things improved. Well, that's not happening anytime soon. I'm coming to Houston on Friday. I MUST sell this tank to someone on Saturday. I need the money to pay off my drums and I need space to consolidate my other units. I have to come back to Bama on Sunday, so I have a very narrow window of opportunity. I'll take whatever I can get for it in 4 days, but it MUST be sold this weekend. Here's my original AD from CList. Never-mind the part about not being flexible on price... I no longer have that luxury... Somebody help me please. It's an AWESOME set-up, but it has to be gone in 4 days, no matter what I can get for it. I'm paying $800/mo for storage, and I can't handle it.
I need to sell my tank to pay-off the Drum set I just bought (that I couldn't afford). It's a Tenecor 540G Acrylic aquarium and stand. Dual Overflow Boxes. Dark Blue back. One of the overflow boxes leaks and needs to be resealed along the back. Just the Box, not the tank itself. The tank doesn't leak, but If you lost power to your pumps with an unsealed sump, the water can leak into the overflow box., and 300 Gallons of water will overflow the sump and flood you're living room (ask me how I know this!!).. I didn't want to empty the tank, at the time, so I just put my pumps on a back-up generator instead. While you've got the tank empty though, the box should be resealed. It's really easy to fix. The tube of solvent costs about $12. Tenecor will do it for free, if you want to pay $1100 in Freight to ship it to Arizona and back. It's not a big deal, at all. Climbing inside the tank will take longer than making the repair. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, and want a pro, one of the guys that works as a fabricator for an Acrylic Shop in town will come and do it for you for $50.
Tank measures Approx 8'L x 3'T x 3'D
I've also got a huge ($1970.00) Skid-mounted Chiller unit with Temp Probe and Auto-Controller for it. There's also a New/Never Used Sump and External Pump. As well as new MH and PC lighting available.
Tank & Stand = $1800.00
w/ chiller unit = $2400.00
w/ sump, Bio-Balls, Brand new Pump, and all piping/valving/fittings = $2700.00
w/ All new Reef Lighting, New Precision Marine Protein Skimmer, Red Sea Berlin, UV Sterilizer, PM Calcium Reactor, Co2 Gas Exchanger, Collector, Carbon Reactor, Moonlight LED's, & +400 lbs of Fiji rock = $3600.00 (exactly $17.00 more than what I owe for the drums).
Deals don't get better than this...
I've got well over 15k invested in this Aquarium.
These tanks cost over $5k new (just the tank).
The stand for it cost over $2k in addition to that..
The Chiller & Control Unit was almost $2k by itself.
So.. This really is a STEAL. I'm sure I'll hate myself severely for doing this, eventually, but it seems logical at the moment.
I lost my house thanks to the damn economy going in the tank, so I can't really enjoy it right now anyway.
Then a killer deal fell into my lap on a drum-set that normally sells for $16,800.00 that I could snag for 1/4 of that. (They're PINK too. I didn't get to choose the color at the price I got them for.. They're still way SEXY though!)
So, I'm willing to let my tank go to someone who can use it.
I'll just consider it a swap for a new Drum set, and I'll just have to enjoy my 85 Gal. as much as I can, for a while, at least.
I do need to part with it soon. I don't have long to get the kit paid off or I'll lose my deposit and the drums.
That being said, Please don't insult me with a low-ball offer.
If you don't know enough to recognize this is a MAJOR Score on an incredible Aquarium set-up then, quite frankly, you don't deserve to have a tank like this....
The extent to which I'm willing to adjust the price, would fall within that extra $17.00 over what I owe on my drums.
So, please don't bother trying to negotiate for a better deal. There is NO such thing......
Thanks
