  • FS: Rare Geophagus Sp. Rio Araguia colony

purchased this colony over a year ago as "red head tapajos" but a they started to grow they turned out to be the much more rare, "red head Araguia" species from the river araguia in South America. I had the ID conformed by a well known breeder of these fish a while back and I have recently ran into some expensive repairs for my truck and I need to sell these fast. There are 11 in my colony and range in size from 3-5 inches. They are still a little young to breed but they are starting to show some colors and have much more color to grow into. The fry for these fish sell for 20-25$ a pop and 300$ for a full grown pair. They are not quite big enough to fully sex but i already have a dominant male and a sub dominant male. If i had to guess id say the ratio is around 6M5F, which is ideal because Geos are monogamous breeders. I am looking to get 380$ for the whole colony and i am pretty firm on the price because im letting them go cheap because i need the money. I might budge a little on the price for serious offers.

Pics from a few months ago are in the link below, there is more color showing since then and they still need to fully mature.

I might also throw in my school of 25~ lemon tetras that live in the same biotope as the araguias.
