  • WTB: Reef Lobster or small SaltwaterFish

Im looking for a small saltwater fish or invert to have in my fluval edge. Thanks

A lobster may be a bad idea. They get pretty mean, and if they can catch it, they will eat it. Maybe you should consider a shrimp. Cleaner shrimp, or a blood shrimp would be a good option.

Just make sure you are on the ball with water changes and filter maintenance. Small tanks are prone to fluctuations and ammonia spikes.
    75 planted (Being Renovated)
    Endlers
    gobies
    lots of nanos

I second what Sea-agg said. The Reef Lobster is a bad idea for a small tank unless that's all you are putting in there. The Cleaner and Blood Shrimp are much better choices as they will live harmoniously with just about everything. I had a few in a Nano 14 at one point and they did good with a few Clowns and blennies in the tank while everything was small and then I went to a 37 gallon cube once the fish started getting bigger...and my coral addiction grew stronger!!!

yea i was only looking at keeping the lobster in there though with the 2 snails and 2 hermits i have in their. I originally wanted to have a clown, but i learned my lesson on what your saying.
Had bought a reef lobster and my salt was too low so thenext morning, SURPRIISEE for me...
transferred my clown from my 55gal that i just got rid of, did a water change, salt was too high so SURPRRIISEEE for me!!
its a learning process and i pretty much got the water change system down for this little thing.
after all this junk happend, i decided to keep my live rock in there and just grow out some frags in it. And with all of the controversy, they are growing well under LED lighting. Im a believer now. My zoanthinds have opened up extremely well! and my green tip torch fully extended out great!
so may just keep growing various things in here rather than having a fish :/
        ill post some pics

That's good to hear about on the LED lighting. I was pondering a small setup with LED lighting to keep the heat and power consumption down. How many gallons is the Fluval Edge setup? Do you have any pics? A few little blennies or gobies would be cool in a setup like this. They have cool little personalities. Especially if you get one that would pair with a Pistol Shrimp. They look like a little lobster....LOL!!!
