Eheim 2215 for parts

I have a 2215 that's been sitting for about 8 months, went to put it to use and can't seem to get any suction, I'm sure someone can get it back running or use it for parts, disconnects, ect.. I just don't really need it. I'll trade it for some fry.. Lake Tanganyikans

Did you try dropping the output hose lower than the height of the input to see if it would pump water through it? Sometimes the Eheims are a little tricky to get started.
