Ok
My PH is fine so me personally I don't need to raise it and my pool filter sand isn't nasty it stays spotless between weekly water changes. If the PH is low then yes, cichlid sand, crushed coral etc would be beneficial.
Everyone set up is different so there's no right answer until we know all of the facts.
And if your PH is already 8.2-8.4 there's no reason to use cichlid sand.Last edited by 55gallon; 03-28-2011, 11:26 AM.-55g : 12x Mbunas / 1x Peacock

Its ok beefy some people just don't get it. And just to let you know King just left my place and picked up 100lbs on aragonite for his african cichlids. Some people insist on using boo boo gearLast edited by jhenry; 03-28-2011, 02:19 PM.Custom Aquarium Cabinets Justin Henry 281-739-8723
