  • GlassCages.com ANYONE ORDER FROM THEM BEFORE?? HOW DID IT GO??

I'm gonna put in an order for a 240g Tall 72 x 24 x 31 Tall w/ starphire glass. They said it take 4 week to arrived. Has anyone bought from them before or know of anyone that has. How the experiences? Anyone seen their starphire glass?

Never actually purchased one from them but I have put in an order over the phone once in March of '06. I never received any updates or the tank which was fine since they never charged my card. Four months later some hick guy calls me from there and is like, "Hey we're about to place the order for you just calling to get confirmation that we can charge your card." I was like uhhh, I've actually moved on from that order after 4 months. He sounded stunned. I was stunned that he was stunned.

I haven't heard good things. I've read that their stuff is "sketchy". The fact that their warranty is only for 90 days.... is just total crap. If your tanks leak in 3 months then your product is just terrible. If you also need all the disclaimers that void the warranty... then your product is pretty terrible too. Every one of my tanks would void that warranty. I also laugh that they don't cover the shipping if you do meet their warranty info. Shipping a large custom tank is easily 2 hundred dollars.

If I wanted a really nice tank for my lizard, then they would be right up my ally, but I wouldn't get anything from them that has to hold water.

Talked to a mutual friend last night and he said glasscage tank was hit or miss. I didn't know it was like that since peter on this board doesn't seem to have any issues.

            They are pretty good .

Have several friends that have reef ready tanks from them

            Best price around.

Every now and then you hear a bad story, but thats the same with any other company. Even the so called better companies out there.

Tank arrived on tuesday. Unable to take a good look at it. will post pics soon as we do. extra effort was taken for delivery by glasscages... they actually delivered it within 10 minutes from the house at a frt depot... for a total price of $100 instead of the $180 quoted, LOL....

                        Just info.
You will not find many companies of any type who pay freight on warranty issues. If you start reading warranties you should see this is the norm. Experience has shown that if we are talking small, like postage, companies often take care of you, but if you are talking freight with big dollars, it is on the consumer.

90 days is good. Manufacture defect will appear at initial fill, or never. Most problems that surface long into ownership can be explained by some form of abuse or customer neglect.

Good luck with the new tank!

starphire is not as expensive as you think on tanks under 200g on 180 front and two sides is about $200 extra, or there about.. i will post my calculations when i look at my invoice...

I am thinking of ordering from glasscages. Any problems with the tank at all?
