Does anyone here have any good tetras available? My gf was hoping to find some at the auction and there was only one before we left and we got out bid on them. :(

What type of tetra are you after?

City pets(i think it was city pets) had some cardinals for $2 each. I dont know if theres any stores selling them lower, but i thought that was a good deal.

I think she isnt 100% sure just some really nice ones for her 42G angel show tank. So they need to get big enough that they dont fit in their mouths. I think we looked at the cardinals at Fish Gallery for $3. Where is City pets?

I really like the rummy nose tetras... Recently put about 15 in a friends tank and they are actually fun to watch. I know fishland has them for around $15 for 10, not sure on the individual price

Rummynose are nice and probably one of the more schooling type.

The Lamp eye tetras that I bought at the auction are still hiding in the plants but the red & blue Tetras (came from Fish Ranch) have colored up nicely and are crusing back & forth.   I think I'll give the tank another another week or so to cycle before I add the nickle size angels.

He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

                    Re: Tetras

I think the lamp eyes at the auction were Moenkhausia sanctaefilomenae, sometimes called Red Eye Tetras. I have 7 of these, have had them for about, oh, going on 5 years now! They're still going strong. (I have a scary picture of one of them in my photo album.) Definitely a boisterous tetra if you're looking for a species that can defend itself, and very hardy as well.

Yes, thanks for the ID - Moenkhausia sanctaefilomenae  Red Eye Tetras

and the Red & Blue Tetras are Hyphessobrycon colombianus

I am trying to get rid of two of my cardinals.  I could even meet you at a fish store and bring them.  I haven't had much luck with them and I need at least four for a school.  $2 for 2.  PM if interested.
