Hey, were trying to do everything cheap, and i mean REALLY cheap! were trying to set up a 20L as a second reef
knowing full well its only a short matter of time before we need to move stock out of our pico (our first and only venture into salt!)
We dropped into Houston Aquarium Warehouse today just to have a browse as we were right round the corner and i managed to pick up two (well used) 30 inch dual T5 coralife fixtures for 40 bucks! hell yeah! i couldn't even build a 4 bulb fixture for that! the ballasts would cost at least that alone! we tested them out and made sure we took the ones with the healthiest ballasts, but it only came with one 6700k bulb for the two fixtures.
I know some people on here are smart enough to stockpile their bulbs when they see them on crazy offers at petsmart and such, could anybody pass a little of there good fortune on?
i'm looking for a couple of 10ks and a couple of actinics, would love if you could trade with me (i've got two marineland powerheads - 145gph and 330gph, a penn-plax auto feeder, full UGF for 55g, ive also got a breeding pair of giant danios i've been trying to shift because i really can't be bothered cleaning up after them any more, they breed every damn day, the gravel in the tank theyre in is a fry graveyard.)
if not, just a cheap set would be awesome.
hope somebody can help us out, would love to meet up with someone from the box again.
Final note, if anybody else is looking for some cheap lights, i know HAW has more fixtures down there he'll be willing to deal on, he just asked me to make him an offer! theres one more 30" but definitely has a dodgy ballast, at least 3 more 36" coralifes (ballasts unknown, didn't check as too big for us) and a few others that're sitting waiting to be swiped!
