WTB: Hood and or lights for standard 55 gallon tank

I need tops for a 55 g tank.  Standard size 12 X 24 requires two tops.

I was getting the glass tops cut in Lowes. It works out about $8 for the glass, and a fish store can sell you the hinge plastic for ~$5. You should get the glass cut 1/8" smaller than the hole, and silicon plastic trim to cover the sharp edges.

Petco sells the glass tops for $20 each side = $40

Hanson mentioned being able to find the tops cheaper than $40, but i dont remember where he said.

Not a bad price at Petco.  I didn't look there. The other stores I looked at were around 50 for the tops.  Not a bad deal at Lowes either.  Thanks for the info.

If its going to be in you living room as a display tank id go for the proper glass and proper light bar. If its going to be in your fish room etc id buy the glass from lowes along with a $10-$20 shoplight.

versa-tops, I got mine for 14.00 for both sides of my 55, but thats here in ok. at an aquarium supply store.
