Wanted: WTB: 72" x 18" Wood canopy

EDIT: looking to buy any 72" x 18" solid wood canopy as long as it looks nice and has some decorative trim on it.



Im looking to buy the 72" x 18" Oceanic canopy pictured below to go with my 72" Oceanic cherry stand. The Oceanic part # 61860. If you have one for sale / trade OR if you see one for sale at a LFS etc. PLEASE let me know, thanks!










Just throwing it out there but I'm also willing to trade my 75g/90g cherry stained 48" x 18" solid wood stand and canopy PLUS a crisp $100 bill for your 72" x 18" Oceanic cherry canopy, I need this canopy! Since I dont have a canopy on my 125g, the lighting is too bright in my living room and my wife isnt too happy about it!








Heres what the stand and canopy looked like when I had my 90g tank setup with it. You can see the stand has a lot of room underneath. I had a FX5 and a 5 gallon bucket as well as other supplies in the picture below and at one point I also had a Eheim 2217 setup under there too.

It's not for sale I'm only willing to trade it for a canopy. If I can't find a canopy in a few more months I'm going to use it when I set up a 75g tank.

I sure like that spare stand and canopy you got too. Have you thought about having someone make you the canopy you want. It doesn't look that complex, the hardest part would be matching the finish. Further more, that whole flip up lid looks like a PITA since you can't really mount lights in it and they tend to be heavy when made like that. The piano style flip up would probably be more convenient. I'm sure somebody like jhenry could help you out. There's a guy named Bueller that will be moving to Houston this summer and he does nice things with wood.

I sent Jhenry a PM. I dont know if he can build it in my price range thats why Im looking for a used canopy. I agree, the Oceanic canopy isnt the most friendly built canopy but anytime you custom build something it usually means spending $$$$$$. We'll see what happens. In the mean time if anyone has a 72" Oceanic canopy let me know. :)

Maybe you should post over at Marsh. Some people with salt tanks don't use canopy, maybe there is one avail. I practically gave mine away a while back.

Build it your self. All you need are about 6-7 2x1 and 2 sheets of fancy cover wood. And the stain color you may want. Cheap build about $60. Wanna use good wood about $150
