Not mj but maybe I can shed a bit of light on them from my little bit of knowledge. These get pretty big as his parent colony are about 6-8", ratio I would prefer to work with 1m/2-4f but getting fry you can't control that since most wont be easy to sex till way later. temperament, would depend on what other fish you are talking about. If grown together you have a higher chance of having it work out but with just about any petro they can flip and go ape**** in an instant.

Right now I have about 25 of these ikola fry with my chibongbong, telematochromis, cyathophranyx, bristlenose, ottocinclus and they are doing fine but they are but 1-2"
