Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.
I think I have some left over you can take free, if I can find them.
On the other hand I have been doing the test with Almond leaves and it doesn't make a difference at all in breeding fish or shrimp.
Seems that if your tank is aged enough and as special using ADA soil.
Water temps and PH is more the key here. A small secret is (but don't tell any one..............HAHA) that if you lower the temps of your shrimp slowly to about 70 or 67 but not lower and raise it slowly backupto 75 they breed like crazy and the colors are just awesome. And I know been doing this for 35+ years. I grew almost every plant out there and have been breeding a lot of fish.
Just newer want to do it as a business, I love my hobby and want to keep it as a hobby.

You can hang a teabag in the tank and get the acidity and tannin obtained from leaf litter.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

I don't have too much experience with shrimp, but this always helped my angels to spawn. I'd dip a few decaf Lipton bags in some hot water to clean them and get some of the tea out, and then I'd hang them in my 80 degree tank. Worked like a charm every time.

I was really wanting to try it just to offer some other means of grazing, not so much for the effects of it but great info! I do the same for my Tropheus to get them to breed and it's like clockwork!
