Help have a built in skimmer can it be remove

    oooo thats on heck of a find for him then! I'd keep the corner overflow and use it to save money! pretty sure if he can build an acrylic rack for it like they make for the biocubes backs.

      If it was me...;-) i'd cut it out and put it up on CL etc, i bet he could make back the cost of the tank just by selling it as a custom insert, if it is an aga, it should be standard dimensions :-)

          I've looked at the pictures but I am not sure how big it is. What is the dimension of that compartment? Does it take up that much space that you want it removed?

          That compartment has its usage, of course in salt water, you can keep the skimmer in there.

          In fresh water, you can keep some kind of filtration, filter pad, heater, temp probe. You can put carbon or other things in there. You can hide a pump in there with the loc line to return water to the tank to help with water circulation, it helps with skimming the crud off the surface of your water ...

          If I were you, I would set up with it in place for a while and see if it is not useful, down the line you can remove it if you still want to.
