Please don't release these fish into the water ways.. It may introduce new bacterial strains and other diseases into the local ecosystem.. If no one wants them, try trading them to a LFS for some credit. Good luck.

+1. Not sure about new diseases and all that, but if you are looking to make a trade, go to a reputable fish store and see if they can trade you out something valuable. When you get desperate to give fish away, you can't exclude the LFS just because you think they'll make a profit. Who's to say whoever gets them from you wont do the same? I would take them, but I have Malawi and Tangs. Goodluck

i dont know what LFS is and all the local fish stores will kill them.. rish r us is right down the road and id rather buy walmart fish than from them. ultimate fish is the next closest and they laughed at me,which is funny considering the condition of his tanks and entire store. everywhere else is to far to drive to from the woodlands and isnt worth driving to fish ranch for 15 bucks in credit. id worry more about my fish than the natives in the river, thats why i dont want to release them.

local fish store.. ok yeah i called several and the only one that would take them like i said was.. i think his name was tran? and i use more gas than id get in credit. i evem tried petsmart and petco guys.. they are to big for petco and petsmart doesnt take fish.. i asked all the real fish stores if i could trade for maybe 20 neon and they said no. tran would but he got a bad batch last week and they died i guess. so if anyone knows anyone who would like to save let me know. and ill take 30 for both if you meet me in the woodlands i mean am i asking to much? i saw them at ultimate for 40 or 50 each for the jacks and same for jags. the jack is a river monster!!!! and dont feel bad if you think your africans will bully them.. there is no way an african can take my jack.. unless its a redonkulously size fish. he has humiliated a very large flowerhorn of my buddies as well as a frontosa i use to keep with him

Maybe it's because they think you're ugly. I understand where you're coming from. I'm sure a kid who is new in the hobby will enjoy them

I hope not... Maybe.. I use to like them when I first got into it and now all my tanks are community. Besides the 40 they are in. I know its small buy I had to save them. They were really bad.

If you truly worried about your fish and don't mind losing 10-15bucks or whatever amount of money would you get from trading/selling them, donate them to a LFS that you trust. Or you can just offer them for free to any of the members on HFB, many of the people here would love to give your fish a good home. Plus, if you release your fish into the water ways, they would eventually die in the fall/winter where the water temperatures would kill them.

I'm sure you never kept a FH before. I will tell you now, FH's are far from boring. They're mixed with so much Amphilophus types of fish, their aggression will keep you entertained.(Assuming they're the Zhen Zhou(ZZ) variant. They aren't called glass bangers for nothing.
