Wanted: shrimp

it might not hurt to list some of your water parameters in the tank now so you can match the right kind of shrimp to that? Are you looking for dwarf shrimps or macros?

im new to it all.. i got some ghost shrimp and love them!! i just want some color though. so any help would be nice. but when i get my fish i wiill pick species that can live with the shrimp very well

Sounds like your looking for a neocardinia type, Reds, Yellow, Snoball, or blues... All are basically the same exact sepcies, just different color variants. Specifying an area in Houston would certainly help, its a big city...

ye true lol im on the near montrose..are those macros or dwarf? i also have a bamboo shrimp but havent seen it since i bought it

Dwarf, we only have one member here on the box that keeps Macro that I am aware of and they do well with dwarfs surprisingly enough. Montrose is near our biggest and baddest shrimp whisperer here on the box, but sadly he is outta town this weekend... We do have a lot of us that do keep colonies and are selling/passing them away...

you can pm armthehomeless as mnemenoi suggests, he is great. there are some dwarf red cherries on sale in the forum right now, they are pretty and easy to keep. go ahead and update your profile with your area so people can see how close that they may be to you. btw, bamboo shrimp will take a little walk if they dont like where they are at. i have had them clean the place up and then leave. i have not seen the dwarf variety leave the water at all yet.
