    I've seen some pretty nice DIY 3d backgrowns. but I still don't think I would do one out of fiberglass...

      I was thinking about doing one but the cure time and all that takes too long...

        i have glassed over expandable foam, it works but is messy since the heat sometimes melts the foam. the zoos do this all the time, i can carry those bolders around that you see in some exhibits. if you sprinkle sand and stuff in the resin while its drying along with pigment, it losses its gloss and can look natural. +1 i am looking forward to seeing some, -1 posting about something that your going to add pics of later is booo

          I think a wire mesh would sink better then foam and insted of the fiberglass matting use cheese cloth. It will give a softer feel stillstrong and not toxic.

          I know a little about fiberglass.
