wtb clown loach

I am interested in buying a clown loach to mix with my 3 cichlids.  Anyone have one available?

They do better in groups.....in all honesty they are best in groups and you will enjoy them much better as so.

I don't have any lynn, but I would like to caution you about their sensitivity to water conditions and tempetures. I am not an expert, but I have been told that they are very susceptible to aquiring ick and other ailments due to their sensitive nature. I would advise if you do obtain one, before plunking him into your tank, that you try to "relax" him  or them some with a good acclimation process and maybe even a day or two in quarentine in tank water you plan to add him/them too.....and do add some stress coat to your water when you do release him/them.

Maybe I'm being a bit excessive here......fellow boxers, is this overkill or close to fact?

yeah.  definetly buy in groups.  2 or more.  3 is good but 2 is fine too.  i bought 1 and he died very quickly of lonelyness,,  i then bought 2 and they are like to p's in a pod.  lol.  goofy little booggers.  and tehy scare the crap outta you.  lay upside down and stuff.  funny.  they get along with everyone and its weird cause my baby african fry will stay with the loaches cause no one will mess with them and the loaches kinda protect them.  but get 2 or more.  youll love them.  i noticed petsmart over here off cypress and 290 has a ton of babys and there cheaper and i have never had a problem with fish from them.  not one problem yet.  do quarientine them though for awhile cause they are notorious for ich and u dont see it usually on them till its too late.  thats another lesson i learned after whippin out a 10 gallon 29g and 55g worth of tanks all from some baby loaches.  lol.  that was a cruel couple weeks.  and expensive.

The problem with the ich is they come in as wilds.....too quickly acclimated and most LFS don't run heaters.

Keep the temps up, buy from good stock and you should be good to go. I think Fish Ranch and City Pets has some large ones for cheap.

Thanks for the information, if I do get any I will get at least 2.  I might go take a look at mike's today.  Is is bad to buy from petsmart since they have all the filtration linked together?

depends.  from what i have bought from them and all.  i have never had a problem with one yet. now petco i had a probleem with.  but not petsmart.  but if your closer to mikes or some LFS thats good and respectable id go there just cause i liike to supposrt those guys as much as i can now that i am a hobbiest  of sorts.

How big and how many are looking for? I have five but they are all over 4.5" and the biggest being almost 8"
