For Sale: Geophagus

Sold to me as Geophagus Surinemensis but with further searching there is no such thing apparently so they are Altriforns.

Med-Large size with very nice trailers! (Dominant male lost one streamer but it grows back fast! Lost it before so I knwo). There is 3 of them, what I thought to be 1m/2f but I could be wrong and it's 2m/1f. These are about 4-5" in length from head to tail.

They are eating Omega shrimp pellets, NLS Thera+A, Veggie sticks, Hikari Massivor, nightcrawlers, superworms, Tilapia filets and whatever else that gets tossed in.


I paid $40ea. for these but will take a loss.

I had some similar to those which were sold to me as Geophagus Jurupari or Santoperca Jurupari...They grew extremely fast for me so I ended up giving them away to another boxer...I can only imagine how fast they would grow with your feeding and wc schedule...Beautiful fish though...Would love to eventually have some down the road if I ever get another big tank...Really great price on those GLWS Q...

Jurupari is completely wrong, but they usually are cheaper than these so I assume you got a good deal.


Mine are pretty big already and from what I gather they get bigger but seeing as though I no longer have a tank for them, they gotta go.

Ten bucks a piece for mine so even though I gave them away I wasn't out much...I remember seeing yours when they were smaller and the coloring on yours was way cooler than mine so I can see why they are a higher priced altifron...I think that cuOngz was setting up a geo tank and was looking for more...he wanted mine but didn't want to drive all the way to Spring...
