Hobby Lobby has plastic plants, those are the only plants you can use with tropheus, I tried everything from all kind of anubias to vallisnerias with no luck.

Tran at FishRanchII has mystery snails if your Fahaka is big enough.

You should buy Sunny's Anubias. Anubias are found in West Africa, so it should be fine with trophs. Might even grow some good algae that the trophs can snack on. You'll be surprised what can be accomplished.

I had some tanganyikan vals and my trophs mowed that stuff down....

Origin of plant means nothing to these fish and if I'm not mistaken their natural habitat has little vegetation outside of algae.

I wouldn't call a two week trial that ended two days ago a success. They started gnawing at the plants two days after I put them in

Nah... I'm talking about long term not just drop some plants and take pics as a prove of success. I have pictures of my ilangis tank with anubias, do you want to know what happend with the plants one or two months latter? Plants were destroyed. Same results with my old moliro colony and Red Rainbows colony. Maybe i had no luck but was an expensive attempt.
