Looking for a good hardy shrimp that I can add in with my Taiwan painted shrimp. Don't want any cross breeding but want something that will do good in Houston tap water.
You have a species of Neocaridina. You'll want a type of Caridina. Many Caridina like low pH and soft water (CRS, CBS, etc...). This is the opposite of Houston tap water. Malawa shrimp are a hardy Caridina species that thrive in Houston tap.
Note: It is possible to keep CRS and others in Houston tap . . . they will not be very hardy though.
Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.
Thanks for the info. I had crs before but they didn't last to long i'm a beginner still so i'm looking for some thing a lil hardier.
Do you know where I can get some of these malawa shrimp?
