my petco had them until i brought in a few dozen assassins, now we have breeding assassin snails instead! lol. i keep purposefully introduced mts in a couple of my tanks at home, they really are good for turning the substrate. about once a week i just pull out a bunch by hand to keep the population in check, let me know if you want them since i normally just throw them outside in the yard.

Wow thanks everyone for your input! I somewhat realize what I'm getting into and a big thanks to Tim for helping me out. I literally called all the pet stores I could find and no one wanted to let me get their snails. I couldn't go to all to check if they had them haha. After a little while I am planning on getting some assassin snails in the future, I'd just like a way to help make sure the sand gets stirred a bit

I might take you up on that, we'll have to see. I was wondering, how do MTS do with ghost shrimp? I've read stories of the ghost shrimp eating the baby snails. I know this probably won't make a dent in their future population but is this story true? I've got 10 ghost shrimp in my tank currently.
And mods, if this would be better placed in a general discussion, feel free to move it! :)
Thanks everyone

I am ashamed to admit, I have them in all my tanks and if you can garantee me a way to get rid of them I will appreciate it. And don't tell me assassin snails because I've tried that and for me it never phased them. They get in your sumps, in your hobs, and any kind of a filter. Yes your canisters too, and sterilizing a 2262 isn't fun. My 350 has a nice colony of loaches, ten clowns, and several other types, and it hasn't made a dent. So I am next going to take out all my sand and clean it and probably put fresh in. Good thing I have a lot of aragonite to do this. But like the man said, If you don't want to catch measels don't ask your friend to come over when he has them! by the way I've also tried rid a snail and others too.

i know you don't want to hear this, but assassins really are the best solution in this case other than sterilizing. you just didn't have enough.my fish house:
